Pastor! Let me do the research for you!

Resume of Don Marchant.
I am volunteering for the job of replacing you in your pulpit when you can’t be there, or when you need a break. Sunday night? Wednesday night? Sunday morn?

I do have references. Please call me at 760-721-8840, or email me at donoram1@yahoo.com.

1. I am currently self-employed, according to the IRS. We have a non-profit: Equipped to Go Ministries.

2. My wife of 44 years, Noreen, and I go twice a year to a most primitive part of India and volunteer teach in a Bible School.

3. We have a website, to help pastors with one specific task: prayforup.com.

4. Before that, we were Missions Directors for an organization called World Missionary Assistance Plan, founded by Ralph Mahoney.

5. Before that, Noreen and I held prayer meetings in a rented room in a restaurant in Oxnard, CA.

6. Before that, we were missionaries to Zambia. I was ordained by my home-church.

7. Before that, I was a Catholic teaching monk and missionary, training Kikuyu, Samburu and Rendille tribesmen to teach in public-schools in Kenya.*

8. Then along came Noreen. She had volunteered to work in Kenya in the same area where I was [with many others] training teachers.

9. We married in southern California. We have two fine sons who married excellent and very pretty wives. We have six wonderful grandchildren.

10. I wrote, “Equipped to Go to an Unreached People,” a training manual for believers who might be called to become missionaries and plant churches among a People who currently have no believers. The book was published by Vision International and is available on the internet.

11. I’ve also written a booklet, “Sustaining the Joy,” in which I try to help the saints stay alive in God.

12. On our website: < prayforup.com > we encourage pastors to let us send them weekly emails that will help them lead their congregations in prayer for the Unreached People selected by Global Prayer Digest for prayer on the next Sunday.

*As a monk, I volunteered to go to Africa to help train teachers. I had been teaching young boys in elementary and high school, and became lonely. I wanted a family of my own. I thought God would help me remain as a monk if I lived in Africa, working for him. It went very well for a while.
