Unreached Peoples page.
Facts about the 10,000 Unreached Peoples of the world.

A People, or People group, is an ethnic group of significant size, whose members speak the same language and share the same culture, within which the gospel can spread without any linguistic or cultural barriers.

An Unreached People is an ethnic group having little or no knowledge of the Savior, and in which the gospel is not spreading as fast as the group is growing in members. Such a group needs more help from outside, more missionaries. Such a group needs prayer.

40% of the world's people belong to Unreached Peoples.
Less than 10% of missionaries go to Unreached Peoples, while over 90% go to People groups that already have many believers and many missionaries.

A very small percent of the money given in church offerings is used for getting the gospel to Unreached Peoples.

600,000,000 individuals in the world are born-again, committed believers in Jesus. This is ten percent of the world population.

Almost three times that number are "nominal Christians." They say they follow Jesus but he is not central in their hearts or lives.

Believers who pray for the UPs come from those 600,000,000. There are few nominal Christians who will pray sincerely for the salvation of the UPs, or become missionaries.

Sincerely praying for the UPs has an enriching effect on those who pray.  I repeat.

Heartfelt prayer for the tribes and kindreds who have no gospel causes those who pray to grow in understanding and appreciation of the treasure they have in Christ.

God is able to get the UPs into his kingdom without our prayer. He died for us without our participation. But he has chosen to accomplish just about everything else with our involvement. He said in one of the parables about our participation, "Enter into the joy of your Lord!" Or, in another version, "Come and share your Master's happiness!"
